Gangway & Accommodation Ladder Testing
Periodic Maintenance
- Gangways and accommodation ladders must be properly maintained and inspected at appropriate intervals, as required by SOLAS, and in accordance to the manufacturer's instructions.
Five-Yearly Operational Load Test
- At every five-yearly survey, gangways and ladders should be operationally tested with the specified maximum operational load, where the load has to be applied as uniformly as possible.
Fittings & Ancillary Equipment Examination
- During the annual and five-yearly survey all fittings, davits, handholds, stanchions, winches etc. need to be properly examined.
